As most of you know, my favorite show of all time is Cheers. I've seen every episode at least twice so I have compiled a list of episodes that are my favorites and that I recommend. I didn't put them in numerical or favorital order but I've put the episode number before the title.
21 Showdown (1)
Sam's brother Derek comes to Cheers, and he has everyone but Sam charmed. When Derek gets Norm a job and teaches Coach Spanish, it only inflames Sam more. And when Derek starts dating Diane, it pushes Sam over the edge.
22 Showdown (2)
When Sam's brother Derek invites Diane to go away with him for the weekend, Sam tries to compensate by dating a myriad of other women. But when Derek invites Diane to go to Europe with him, Sam and Diane finally admit their feelings for each other.
246 and 247 An Old-Fashioned Wedding
It's Woody and Kelly's wedding day, but Carla predicts gloom and doom. She urges them to cancel the wedding, but since they've finally slept together, they decide they have to get married. But Carla is right. First, the minister dies, then Rebecca chases off the chef, and a jealous husband comes after Sam. Then things turn bad. Note: this episode was a full hour.
104 Thanksgiving Orphans
Since Diane is the only one who has made plans for Thanksgiving, Carla invites everyone else to her place. They come over, but get very impatient as the afternoon passes waiting for Norm's turkey to cook. When Diane's plans fall through, she joins them, to Carla's disgust.
210 The Days of Wine and Neuroses
As the gang mourns the loss of the jukebox, Robin finally gets out of jail and proposes to Rebecca. Things go great, until her bridal shower, where she has a little too much to drink, and wonders if she really loves Robin after all. Also, Frasier becomes entranced with the replacement for the jukebox -- a sing-a-long karaoke machine.
248 The Little Match Girl
As the gang migrates back to the bar after Woody and Kelly's wedding, Rebecca is depressed because she is unmarried and unhappy. So, she starts smoking again, but vows to quit smoking and get her life in order. But first, she must tell Sam that she burned down the bar with her last cigarette.
273, 274, and 275 One for the Road
The gang is stunned as they watch Diane receive an award for a screenplay she has written. To congratulate her, Sam sends her a telegram, and she calls back to thank him. They talk about their lives and lie to each other about having spouses and families, until, in a moment of weakness, Sam invites her back to Boston. Meanwhile, Rebecca is ecstatic when Don finally pops the question, but she finds it hard to say ``yes'', thinking that she can't possibly marry a plumber. Diane does return to Boston, with her alleged ``husband'', and has dinner with Sam and his ``wife'' Rebecca. The truth comes out, and it's not long before the passion between Sam and Diane is back on. Back at the bar, Sam informs the gang that he is going to California with Diane, but they reconsider.
8 Truce or Consequences
After Sam has had it with the continuous bickering between Diane and Carla, he decides that they must resolve the bitter feelings between them. They stay at Cheers after work one night to find a solution to their problems, but end up getting intoxicated.
70 Birth, Death, Love and Rice
Frasier comes into Cheers to speak with Sam, and tells him that Diane has joined a convent. Sam goes to the convent to try and convince her to come to Cheers. Meanwhile, Sam hires Woody, a friend of Coach's, to replace the late bartender.
39 Fortune and Men's Weight
Coach gets an antique weight machine that also gives out fortunes, and the fortunes start coming true. Diane brushes off the premonitions as coincidence, until her fortune comes true, and it means breaking up with Sam.
44 I'll Be Seeing You (2)
Diane goes ahead with the portrait, even though Sam has forbidden Diane to allow herself to be painted by the artist Phillip Semenko. When the painting is finished, Diane wants Sam to see painting on its own merits, but he can't get beyond his anger at its having been painted.
14 Let Me Count the Ways
When Diane's cat dies, she turns to the Cheers folks for help overcoming her grief. The gang all tries to help in their way, but it turns out that Sam has the right answer to Diane's problem. Meanwhile, on a tip from Marshall, Sam and Coach secretly bet against the Celtics.
129 Bidding on the Boys
Rebecca offers to have a charity auction at Cheers, an auction where eligible bachelors are auctioned off for an evening of romance. Frasier and Lilith's tiff escalates when Lilith bids on Sam, while an ``experienced'' woman gets Woody.
38 Cliff's Rocky Moment
After he opens his mouth once too many, Cliff finds himself in trouble with a bully. So, for protection, Cliff brings in fellow postal employee Lewis to offer protection. Also, Sam is livid when Diane keeps winning the football pool despite the fact that she doesn't know a thing about football.
174 The Stork Brings a Crane
It's Cheers' 100th anniversary, and Rebecca is celebrating by rolling prices back to their turn of the century costs. She also invites Boston Mayor Raymond L. Flynn, and he comes to present a plaque, but is interrupted by the Lilith's labor pains.
1 Give Me a Ring Sometime
Diane Chambers, a teaching assistant at a local Boston university, comes into Cheers with her husband-to-be and boss, professor Sumner Sloan, to use the phone. When Sumner goes to get the wedding ring from his ex-wife, leaving Diane alone at Cheers, she is besieged by the clientele and employees, especially Sam Malone, the owner and ex-baseball player. But when Sumner leaves Diane to go back to his ex-wife, she feels she has no alternative but to accept Sam's offer of employment as a waitress.
17 Diane's Perfect Date
Diane and Sam aren't very approving of each other's dates, so they agree to fix each other up. Sam thinks that Diane is going to fix him up with herself, so he doesn't get anyone. But when Diane comes in with Gretchen, Sam tries hard to find someone for Diane. He finds Andy Andy, an ex-convict, who provides Diane with an interesting evening.
58 The Heart is a Lonely Snipe Hunter
The gang decides to play a trick on Frasier by taking him ``snipe'' hunting and then leaving him alone in the woods. They return to Cheers and to Diane's relentless reproach, but Frasier is so excited that he is ``one of the gang'' that he asks them to do it all again.
115 Dinner at Eight-ish
Frasier and Lilith come in to Cheers with an important announcement: They have been decided to live together. To celebrate, they ask Sam and Diane to dinner. Meanwhile, Cliff volunteers to sit with Carla's kids.
90 Fear is My Co-Pilot
Jack Dalton, an old friend of Diane's when she was running around Europe, comes in to Cheers to relive the old times. He sees Diane in her surroundings, and decides that she has ``settled down''. He sets out to re-inspire Diane by flying Diane and Sam on his personal jet.
133 Christmas Cheers
Sam is upset when he finds out that Carla and Woody have gotten Rebecca Christmas gifts, and he hasn't. So he goes out on Christmas Eve to get a gift that will hopefully cheer Rebecca. Norm gets a job as a Santa Claus at a local department store, and he and his fellow Kris Kringle's come to Cheers to celebrate a job well done. Cliff works to get food donations for the needy so he can win a trip to Disneyworld.
236 My Son, the Father
When Carla finds out her son intends to become a priest, she becomes a devil since ``anyone who has a son who becomes a priest, has an automatic `get out of hell free' card''. However, her son changes his mind, and she worries about all the bad things she's done. Meanwhile, Cliff fancies himself a stand up comedian, and wonders ``what's up with that?'', while Sam breaks a tooth on some of Melvilles crab salad and contemplates a lawsuit.
145 The Big Kiss-Off
When Rebecca off-handedly calls Woody ``cute'', she doesn't realize the implications. The gang razzes Woody, saying he doesn't have a chance with Rebecca, while they imply that Sam is old. So a contest evolves, a contest to see which of the two will kiss Rebecca before midnight.
244 Bar Wars VI: This Time it's for Real
When Sam and the gang find out that Gary's Olde Towne Tavern has been sold, they waste no time in playing pratical jokes on the new owner. Their fun, however, is dampened when they realize the new owner is a mob boss. Meanwhile, Rebecca is offered a complete make-over by Redbook magazine.
267 Look Before You Sleep
Sam's apartment building is scheduled to be fumigated, so he plans on spending the night at a ``friend's''. But when she cancels on him, and he accidentally locks himself out of the bar, he find himself in need of a place to stay. After fending off Shriners, he ends up at Cliff's.
121 I Do, Adieu
After a five year on-again, off-again romance, it's time for Sam and Diane's wedding. But when Sumner Sloan comes to Cheers to have Diane finish a novel she has started, Sam convinces her that she should pursue her literary dream.
182 What is... Cliff Clavin?
Cliff auditions for a chance to be a contestant on Jeopardy, and to everyone's surprise, he makes it. On the show, he starts out by winning a lot of money, but then, to no one's surprise, he ends up losing it all. Meanwhile, someone has stolen Sam's black book and is calling all the women in it---and Rebecca's next on the list.
176 For Real Men Only
Frasier, concerned about his boy Frederick's bris, decides to ``save'' the kid. Meanwhile, Rebecca throws a retirement party for a corporation bigwig, but it flops, and Carla tries to have Eddie's jersey number retired.
217 Carla Loves Clavin
It's time again for the annual ``Miss Boston Barmaid'' contest, and to Sam's chagrin, it's been changed so that personality and efficiency rate more than appearance. Carla, seeing that the prize is a new Mazda Miyata, decides to enter. To win, she puts on an air of warmth and personality, but it all fades when she learns that Cliff is a judge. Meanwhile, Rebecca is impatient with Norm's apparent lack of progress on the office painting job, but he has things well in hand: he has plans to use an industrial spray painter.
245 Heeeeeere's Cliffy
After years of sending in jokes to Johnny Carson's talk show, Cliff finally gets one accepted. Actually, it's Norm who's come up with the whole scheme, and takes the joke too far when Cliff actually goes to Hollywood. Meanwhile, Sam and Woody get into (relatively) deep philosophical discussions while putting a satellite dish up on the roof.
